Community Action in Mokindi
On August 3, 2026, LARDIN – Legacy Action and Royal Development Initiatives joined forces with the vibrant youth of Quarter 4, Mokindi Isokolo Village for a common purpose: creating a cleaner, safer, and greener Mokindi.
Together, we cleaned gutters that had become heavily blocked with plastic bottles, sachets, and other waste. These blockages were restricting the natural flow of water and increasing the risk of flooding in the area.
This simple act of community service has a lasting impact. By clearing these drains, we help reduce flooding during heavy rains — an important step for Mokindi, a community located along the coastline.
Every bottle and piece of plastic removed from the gutters is one less piece of waste that could end up polluting our ocean.
Why This Matters.
Real change begins when communities unite.
Community-led cleanups like this do 3 things:
- Protect the environment – Less plastic in our drains means less plastic in our ocean.
- Safeguard public health – Clear drainage reduces flooding and the spread of water-borne diseases.
- Inspire future generations – When young people lead, they set the standard for the places they call home.
