The Founder, President & CEO of The Legacy Action and Royal Development Initiatives (LARDIN) attended the 2026 Maryland Food Summit on September 23, 2026, at the Maryland Department of the Environment in Baltimore, Maryland.

The fully in-person event brought together more than 200 participants and diverse voices, including entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, health and educational institutions, environmental professionals, community leaders, and other stakeholders committed to strengthening Maryland's food systems.
Participants engaged in more than 20 discussion topics and facilitated table conversations, with approximately 8–10 registered attendees organized at each topic-specific table. These conversations created opportunities to exchange ideas, identify challenges, share community-based solutions, and explore partnerships around food recovery, waste reduction, sustainability, and environmental protection.
The 2026 Maryland Food Summit builds on Maryland's ongoing work in food residual diversion, food-system resilience, and solid waste infrastructure for recycling, while supporting the broader goals of National Food Waste Prevention Week. The summit served as an important platform for community engagement, environmental action, climate awareness, collaboration, and innovation.
A particularly valuable outcome of the summit was the opportunity for LARDIN's Founder, President & CEO to connect with representatives of the Montgomery County Food Council and the Montgomery County environmental community. Discussions opened opportunities for LARDIN to explore future collaboration and partnerships focused on food recovery, waste diversion, environmental sustainability, and community development.
