As part of LARDIN’s Waste Management Project, the organization conducted a community cleanup at Manaman Street, Newtown, Limbe, on Wednesday, 2 September 2026. The activity formed part of “Keep Limbe Clean Wednesday,” an ongoing community initiative promoting responsible waste management, environmental stewardship, and cleaner, healthier communities across Limbe.

The cleanup brought together LARDIN team members and community participants to remove accumulated waste, improve the cleanliness of the area, and raise awareness about proper waste disposal and community responsibility for protecting the environment.

Through initiatives such as Keep Limbe Clean Wednesday, LARDIN continues to mobilize communities to take practical action against pollution and contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more resilient Limbe.

Impact at a Glance:

- Waste Collected: 4 Bags (180Kg) evacuated

- Recyclables Recovered: 1.5 mosquito net bags of plastic bottles

Logistics & Challenge:
Due to the considerable distance from the quarter to the nearest dustbin and the weight of the trash in bags, the team had to hire and pay for a tricycle to transport and properly evacuate the collected waste. This highlights the ongoing need for a tricycle and a closer waste collection points and logistical support for community clean-up efforts.

The activity ran from 9:30 AM to 11:45 AM (2h 15mins) and ended with appreciation from the community.

LARDIN remains committed to sustaining the Keep Limbe Clean momentum through community-led action.
